Tamworth

At the Country Music Awards in Tamworth last Saturday night, John was in the running for five Golden Guitars for his new album ‘Honest People’. It wasn’t his night so the total he has will have to stay at 25 for now. His performance at the awards of ‘Clouds over Tamworth’ was particularly relevant and he was delighted to be joined by not only Col and Dave (who normally tour with him) as well as being accompanied by industry respected musicians Clare O’Meara and Mick Albeck.

It was great to see his old mate Sara Storer win another Golden Guitar for her song ‘Canoe’ particularly as John was the inspiration for the song. He was delighted that Lyn Bowtell won the Golden Guitar for the Alternative Country Album. Damon Morton, who is part of John’s sound crew is Lyn’s partner.
